Are you Calm in a Crisis?

Wiltshire Council have been looking at how we can all respond to emergency situations across the county in a co-ordinated and joined up way, and as a result our Operations Manager, Joe Elder has been working with Wiltshire Council on how this might look for us parish-wide.

Published: 25 September 2023

We would like to recruit volunteers who are calm in a crisis, or with any skills that in an emergency can be put to good use.

Could you be a Community Emergency Volunteer?
We are holding an information session on Wednesday October 18th in the River Bourne Community Farm, Straw Bale Classroom 7 – 8.30pm

Whether it’s supporting vulnerable people through a pandemic, responding to floods or working on support lines, community emergency volunteers have got people through their worst times. Not many people can say that. If you’d like to support your local community, we really need emergency response volunteers.
At the meeting we will have speakers from the Flood Resilience Team Lead, Community Resilience Team Lead and the Environment Agency.

If you just want to know more, or are interested in joining the team – we’d love to see you there!

contact Joe via joeelder@laverstock-ford.co.uk and if you can come along to find out more on the 18 Oct please let him know.
This is an exciting and vital role, one that we hope you might be able to help us with.
