Happy International Women’s Day. This year’s #IWD23 theme is #embraceequity. We are proud of our councillors and their commitment to improving and stewarding our large parish, and the way in which they all work together to achieve this. From addressing Litter issues, to Speed Watch teams, to Local Footpath Wardens and our Environment Action Group, lots of seemingly small actions can have a big impact. This has resulted in a series of short rough ’n’ ready films to be found on our Facebook page.
Here’s Cllr Waller recounting her current favourite challenges as councillor for Bishopdown Farm Ward (Hampton Park & River Down Park) https://youtu.be/G8ZCI81DUvc
and here is Cllr Jones a ward councillor for Laverstock & Milford https://youtu.be/Z3huYe00XKw
and here is Cllr Barker talking about the aspects of her role that she is passionate about https://youtu.be/ww17m656pks
Finally, we managed to talk to women around the Farm about the theme of this years International Women’s Day #embraceequity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDsK2VueJ80
Some of our women councillors also feature in the National Association of Local Councillors films today
🚺 This #InternationalWomensDay, @NALC celebrates councillors’ hard work and achievements. By celebrating the achievement of women in the sector, we hope to encourage more women to stand as councillors.
