Chair of Laverstock & Ford Parish Council, Nik Baker stated,

“Speaking personally, I am encouraged to see the granting of this planning permission as it shows that it is possible to restore this important part of our heritage. It is significant that the decision states that “For the avoidance of doubt, the ability of the applicant to commence the works herby approved is not constrained by the outcome of any other planning application.” I hope that this will allow the owners to take immediate action to restore this hanger which is the centre piece of the First World War air field. If local residents were to see this happening it would go a long way to restoring the loss of confidence many people feel about the care for the airfield before consideration is given to its long term future.”
