Nick has been a councillor for Laverstock and Milford Ward since 2019. He is a member of the Personnel Committee, the Laverstock Schools Traffic Working Group, and the Country Park Liaison Group.
Nick is now enjoying his ‘second career’ working in the charity sector and is the Finance Manager for a Southampton-based charity. Before that, he held various teaching and senior leadership roles in secondary schools and an FE College. He continues to be actively involved with children as a Cub Scout leader in Laverstock and is also an active member of St Andrew’s Church. He has a keen interest in environmental issues, serves as a trustee of a national conservation charity, and was involved in setting up the Wild About Laverstock online community. He says, ‘being a member of the Parish Council has been a wonderful opportunity to make a difference to the community where my family and I live. If anyone is interested in finding out more about becoming a parish councillor, I would be delighted to have an informal conversation about what is involved.’
In May 2025, Nick was also elected as a Wiltshire Council member for Laverstock Division, standing on behalf of the Liberal Democrat Party.
