Annual Parish Meeting

What is an Annual Parish Meeting?

There can be, and often is, confusion between the Annual Parish Meeting and the Annual Parish Council Meeting. All Town and Parish Councils throughout England are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting, which must take place between 1 March and the 1 June (inclusive). Meetings should not commence before 6pm. See our frequently asked questions sheet for more information.

This year, the meeting is scheduled for May 15th at 6pm to be held at the River Bourne Community Farm. We have the Dogs Trust opening the meeting with a short presentation, and hope to hear about activity from groups and individuals including Parish Litterpicking Wombles, our Volunteer Footpath Wardens and the Parish Environmental Action Group. We are also delighted to welcome Philip Wilkinson the Wiltshire Police Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable Catherine Roper who will be speaking at the start of Annual Parish Council Meeting which immediately follows on at 7.45pm.

If  you are a resident of the parish, or a group, club or society within the parish and have a burning issue you’d like to see included, or would like to briefly tell people about what you do in the parish please contact we have limited space for displays.

see skeleton Agenda here (confirmed no later than three days prior to meeting):
