People from our parish can become a member for just £1 and help to ensure that this project continues to support those struggling with the cost of living and helps to reduce food waste. As a parish council we are delighted to support this project.
The pantry opened to help people and families who are struggling with the cost of living or other financial difficulties to lower their shopping costs.
Who is able to use the pantry?
People and families who are just above the assessment or referral levels required for some other schemes. There is no criteria – anyone can use the Community Pantry.
What can someone get from the Pantry and how much does it cost?
The Pantry offers a once weekly shop, which costs £5. This allows you to get around £35 worth of shopping. There are two fridges with fruit and vegetables which are free and don’t count towards the shop, so there are no restrictions on items that are good for you! Ther are products for people with allergies, from oat milk to gluten free and vegan options.
The Pantry also serves breakfast and light snacks on a Wednesday and hot dinners on a Friday.
